About the Faculty

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology was established in 1964, still at the Evening School of Engineering. In 1965, the Evening School of Engineering was transformed into the Higher School of Engineering, and from that moment on, the Faculty began education in the system of full-time studies, and from the academic year 1973/74 education in the system of uniform master's studies.
Currently, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science educates students in two majors, i.e. electrical engineering and, since 2000, also computer science. In the field of electrical engineering, education is provided in three specialties: electrical power engineering, processing and use of electricity, and engineering applications of computer science, while in the field of computer science in six specialisations: ICT systems and computer networks, software engineering and database systems, computer graphics and multimedia, administration and security of information systems, industrial information systems, and electronic economy tools.
The Faculty has an established position in the country and a good reputation in the region, as evidenced by the constant cooperation with industry, economic organisations and universities of Lublin. The employees of the Department are members of a number of organisations in which they also often hold managerial positions. They are members of a numer of divisions within the Polish Academy of Sciences: Electrical Engineering Committee, High Power Section, Section of Power Systems, and Optoelectronics Section.
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the Lublin University of Technology also conducts very active scientific and research activities in the discipline of electrical engineering and computer science both in Poland and abroad.
Research and teaching activities are conducted in the main building of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, the building of the Centre for Innovation and Advanced Technologies, the seat of the Centre for Information Technology and Technical Linguistics CENTECH, the CoE Asppect edifice and the "Pentagon" – the venue of the Department of Computer Science.
